I just wanted to thank you for putting this information out on the web. I was naive when I left the United States for Pamplona, Spain to participate in a study abroad program sponsored by my college here in the states. I didn't fall victim to Opus Dei, but several attempts were made to recruit me and other exchange students. As I stated, I was naive; I didn't even know what Opus Dei was before studying at the Universidad de Navarra (an Opus Dei affiliated university). Luckily my roommate, who is a Catholic Spaniard, explained to me what Opus Dei was and informed me of their recruitment methods. Upon returning home after my 8 month stay in Spain, the head of the language department asked me how he could better prepare students for studying abroad in Spain. Before I mentioned culture shock or anything else, I told him to inform the students about Opus Dei. I couldn't stress the importance of that enough.
