Im vierten Band der Schriftenreihe republicart liefert Gerald Raunig auf der Basis einer poststrukturalistischen Revolutionstheorie reiches Material für die Analyse verschiedenartiger Austauschverhältnisse von Kunst und Revolution. Gustave Courbets Engagement in der Pariser Commune, deutsche Aktivismen der 1910er Jahre, postrevolutionäre sowjetische Kunst um Eisenstein und Tretjakov, die Situationistische Internationale im Pariser Mai 1968, das Aufeinanderprallen der Wiener Aktionisten und der StudentInnenbewegung in der Aktion "Kunst und Revolution", und schließlich die Genealogie der VolxTheaterKarawane von einem anarchischen Theaterkollektiv der 1990er zu einer transversalen Verkettung zwischen Antiglobalisierung und europäischem noborder-Netzwerk: Diese exemplarischen Untersuchungen spannen einen Bogen unterschiedlicher Formen der Verkettung von revolutionären Maschinen und Kunstmaschinen im "langen 20. Jahrhundert".
