"Männer an den Herd statt Frauen zur Armee" lautete der Titel einer Aktionsgruppe der Arge Wehrdienstverweigerung & Gewaltfreiheit als am 1. April 1997, allen Aprilscherzen zum Trotz Frauen zum österreichischen Bundesheer zugelassen wurden. Wir wollen in einem männlich definierten System struktureller Gewalt weder gleichberechtigt noch untergeordnet töten oder sterben, verhaftet oder eingesperrt werden. Wir wollen gleichberechtigt leben. In einer gewalt- und vor allem heerschaftsfreien Gesellschaft.

2 Frauen verweigern den Kriegsdienst, dafür sitzen sie in Israel in Militärgefängnissen
In Israel, der sechstgrößten Atommacht herrscht für Frauen die Wehrpflicht. Die Pazifistin Inbal Gelbert wurde vom Gewissenskomitee nicht anerkannt, nach der Ablehnung wurde sie zum Militärdienst einberufen, sie verweigerte und ist seit November 2003 mehrfach inhaftiert worden. Laura Milo ist vom Gewissenskomitee abgelehnt worden und hat sich am 23. Februar 2004 selbst bei der Einberufungsbehörde gestellt. Sie hatte betont, keine Pazifistin zu sein, ihre Verweigerung sei das Resultat der Besatzung, sie verweigere ihre Teilnehme an den Ungerechtigkeiten, die das israelische Militär im Namen des Staates ausübe. Laura Milo wurde am 23. Februar zu 14 Tagen Arrest verurteilt, dabei wurde ihr von einem Offizier mitgeteilt, sie solle sich darauf einstellen, für ein Jahr und neun Monate ins Gefängnis zu kommen. Veronica Kravtov hatte eine akademische Ausbildung bei den Israelischen Verteidigungsstreitkräften begonnen, als sich ihre Gesinnung während der Ausbildung änderte, stellte sie einen Antrag beim Gewissenskomi tee. Dieser wurde mit der Begründung abgel??- ?ehnt, dass an der akademischen Ausbildung teilnehmende Personen keine PazifistInnen sein könnten. Am 22. Februar wurde sie zu 14 Tagen Haft verurteilt.
Abgelehnt. Verurteilt. Eingesperrt. Alles gleichberechtigt?
Die allgemeine Wehrpflicht für Frauen ist ein Ausnahmefall. Israel wird von Frauen und Männern gerne als Beispiel der Gleichbehandlung genannt, wenn es um die Diskussion der Zulassung von Frauen zum Militärdienst oder zu den Kampftruppen geht. GerechtigkeitsethikerInnen bezeichnen den Militärdienst als StaatsbürgerInnenpflicht. So lange Frauen aus dieser staatsbürgerlichen Pflicht ausgeschlossen wären, wären sie auch keine vollwertigen und gleichberechtigten Bürgerinnen. Alice Schwarzer hatte
einmal formuliert, erst die Wehrpflicht biete die Möglichkeit, sich zu verweigern. In Israel herrscht Wehrpflicht. Frauen haben verweigert. Sie werden verfolgt und eingesperrt. Ein Akt der Frauenbefreiung? Die Motivation ist jedenfalls in der Unvereinbarkeit des Gewissens mit dem Wehrdienst gelegen bzw. in einer Kritik der Besatzungspolitik des Staates Israel, diese Kritik hat zu verschärfter Strafandrohung geführt.

Noa Kaufmann ist Zivildienstleistende in Israel Sie gehört New Profile, einer feministisch-antimilitaristischen Gruppe in Israel, die Wehrdienstverweigerer und "Zwielichtverweigerer (2/3 der ReservistInnen "vermeidet den Dienst) unterstützt, an. Aus der Grundsatzerklärung von New Profile: "Wir weigern uns, unsere Kinder weiter mit dem Ziel aufzuziehen, die Einberufung als höchsten und vorherrschenden Wert anzusehen. Wir wollen eine wahrhaft demokratische, zivile Erziehung, das Lehren von Praktiken des Friedens und der Konfliktlösung, anstatt Kindern beizubringen, die Einberufung und den Krieg zu akzeptieren. Derzeit sind in Israel 25 % der Rekrutierungsjahrgänge untauglich (in Österreich ca. 15 %), weniger als die Hälfte der Wehrpflichtigen leistet ihren Militärdienst. Für Männer ist die Wehrdienstverweigerung illegal, ReservistInnen verweigern den Dienst in besetzten Gebieten. Die Gefängnisse in Israel sind mit Verweigerern überfüllt, oft kann eine, Strafhaft wegen Platzmangels nicht angetreten werden. Frauen können nach einer erniedrigenden Gewissensprüfung, die bei weitem nicht alle bestehen, durch ein Militärkommitee, einen zivilen Dienst leisten. New Profile sieht das israelische Wehrpflichtgesetz als diskriminierend und undemokratisch an und fordert das Menschenrecht auf Kriegsdienstverweigerung für Männer und Frauen. Noa Kaufmann hat vor ein paar Monaten ihre Gewissensprüfung bestanden, sie wird über die "militarisierte Gesellschaft in Israel berichten, in der die Kämpfer, die "unfehlbaren Männer oben auf der sozialen Leiter stehen. New Profile steht für die israelische Bevölkerung, die nicht mehr bereit ist in einem Soldatenstaat zu leben.
