"Himmelsreise": Necla Keleks Abrechnung mit dem Islam

Die in der Türkei geborene deutsche Soziologin Necla Kelek zeigt in ihrem neuen Buch den Islam als soziale Realität und kulturelle Institution. Sie kritisiert Deutschlands unkritisches Islamverstehen.
Necla Kelek, in der Türkei geborene und in Deutschland aufgewachsene Soziologin, spürt in ihrem neuen Buch "Himmelreise" dem Islam als sozialer Realität und kultureller Institution nach. Immer wieder, so schreibt Kelek, werde behauptet, "den" Islam gebe es gar nicht, sondern nur verschiedene Formen und Sichtweise. Nein, sagt sie zu Beginn ihrer Streit- und Aufklärungsschrift, den Islam gebe es: "Der Islam", der das Verhalten von Menschen "definiert, einfordert und reproduziert"
Auf 250 Seiten beschreibt die Autorin die durchdringende Macht der Religion Mohammeds - als Glaube, in Alltag und Politik. So heißt es im Untertitel auch: "Mein Streit mit den Wächtern des Islam". Es geht um Koran-Auslegung, Kopftücher und Moscheen, um Zwangsheirat und dem Macho-Gehabe türkischer und arabischer Jungs. Von Moscheen und Kindheitszwängen
Für ihr Buch hat Kelek Moscheen in Deutschland besucht. Sie schildert ihre Erfahrungen mit Vorbetern und Kommunalpolitikern, die sich eher hilflos den Herausforderungen der multikulturellen Gesellschaft stellen. Sie berichtet aus ihren Erlebnissen als Kind einer türkischen Emigrantenfamilie als langen, oft quälenden Weg auf der Suche nach einer eigenen Identität, wie ihn Kelek schon in ihrem Bestseller "Die fremde Braut" beschrieben hat.
Kelek will erklären, was die bärtigen Männer mit Käppis und ihre Frauen in Pluderhosen, wie sie etwa in Berlin-Neukölln oder in Köln-Ehrenfeld leben, mit dem Islam zu tun haben. Fragt, wo die Verbindung zwischen den Bräuchen und Verboten mit dem Glauben liegt.
Islam in Deutschland: "Stammespolitik"
Deutschland, so zeichnet es Kelek nach, stehe in einer langen Tradition des unkritischen Islamverstehens - von Karl dem Großen über Lessing und Goethe, dem Kaiserreich bis zu dem "Teufelspakt" zwischen den Nazis und den dem Großmufti von Jerusalem. Zum wohl informativsten Teil des Buches gehört die Darstellung der islamischen Organisationen in Deutschland und den Bemühungen der türkischen Regierung, ihre Landesleute nicht den Islamisten zu überlassen. Doch Kelek spricht den meisten Verbänden eine demokratische Legitimation ab. Sie spricht von "Stammesführern", für die Glaube und Politik eins seien.
Der Islam müsse sich ohne Wenn und Aber dem Rechtsstaat verschreiben, fordert Kelek. Es sei von entscheidender Bedeutung für die Zukunft Europas, dass Muslime von der Idee einer säkulären und demokratischen Bürgergesellschaft überzeugt werden, in der die Freiheit attraktiver erscheine als die kollektiven Zwänge einer religiösen Weltanschauung. Koran hinterfragen
Zwar gelte der Koran für gläubige Muslime als unfehlbares Wort Gottes. Doch all die Regeln, die Sexualmoral und die untergeordnete Rolle der Frau seien nicht gottgewollt, sondern vor dem Hintergrund einer feudalen Wüstengesellschaft entstanden, in der sich Mohammed im siebenten Jahrhundert zum Religionsstifter hoch kämpfte.
Angesichts neuer Forschungsarbeiten vor allem europäischer Wissenschaftler müssten Islam-Gelehrte immer wieder den Vorwurf abwehren, der Koran sei keine Offenbarungsschrift, sondern "Literatur". Die Quellen des Buches seien dubios und selbst der ägyptische Wissenschaftler Nasr Hamid Abu Zaid erkennt im Koran "Gottes Menschenwort". Indem Mohammed zum "Siegel" der Propheten erklärt wurde, also Jesus und Abraham überlegen, sei er für Menschen unerreichbar geworden, anders als im Christentum, wo Jesus eben zum sündigen Menschen wurde.
"Habt nichts zu verlieren außer Scharia"
Kelek plädiert dafür, dass sich die Schriften des Islam wie die Bibel einer theologischen und historischen Interpretation nicht entziehen dürfen. Auch in der muslimischen Alltagskultur zieht die Autorin eine Verbindung zum Glauben. Übertriebene Ehr-Gefühle, die ständige Einforderung von "Respekt", die Rolle von Vater und Mutter, sogar der Satz "Was guckst Du" und die Beschneidung sie seien alle letztlich in einer Religion begründet, die die Trennung von Weltlichem und Geistlichem nicht kennt. Stattdessen würde er als "kollektive Selbstvergewisserung" der aufgeklärten Gesellschaft die kalte Schulter zeigen. "Muslime aller Welt", ruft Kelek am Ende ihres neues Buches, "ihr habt nichts zu verlieren außer der Scharia".
Zur Autorin Necla Kelek wurde 1957 in Istanbul geboren. Sie hat Volkswirtschaft und Soziologie studiert und promovierte über Islam im Alltag. Immer wieder meldet sich Kelek öffentlich zu Wort, zuletzt zu der ihrer Meinung zu schwachen Reaktion deutscher Medien zum Anschlag auf den dänischen Mohammed-Karikaturisten Kurt Westergaard.
Bekannt wurde sie 2005 mit "Die fremde Braut. Ein Bericht aus dem Inneren des türkischen Lebens in Deutschland". Für ihr Engagement wurde sie mit dem Geschwister-Scholl- Preis der Stadt München und 2006 mit dem internationalen Corine Preis für Sachbücher ausgezeichnet.
